2 Custom Paintings

I wanted to share two custom paintings with you that I just finished last weekend. The customer (my friend, Becca) wanted the paintings to match this baby bedding from Target.

Getting started:
One down, one to go...

She was planning to use them at her friend's baby shower as decoration and them give them to the Mom-to-Be for baby Aubrey's nursery.
I love this bible verse she chose:
When Becca came to pick up the paintings, she had the bedding with her in her car so I asked her to bring it in. I wanted to see if they actually matched since I was going by a small photo of the bedding. I was really pleased with how well they matched!

Although I was sick with a terrible sinus and ear infection and at times wondered if I would get them finished (self pity party)...I still enjoyed working on these and I hope they love them!
Note: The name & wording are cut vinyl and all the rest is hand painted.

New Frame~Zipper Rosettes

Another new frame~this is has a 4x6 photo opening and is 2" solid wood painted grey and navy blue. I made the 2 zipper rosettes myself.

I found that you could turn this frame any way you wanted & the rosettes still look good, no matter what position you put them in!

This Shabby Chic style frame is distressed pale pink with a light crackle finish to it. I made the fabric rosettes and one is embellished with faux pearls.

These two frames are not only handmade by yours truly, but are also a new line of frames that are of a much higher quality than the previous frames I've made. I've searched for a great vendor for some time & finally found a good, sturdy, quality solid wood frame WITH GLASS and an easel back that I can now offer to you!

Both of the frames below have a 4x6 photo opening and are embellished with acrylic paint, ribbon and/or feathers. They are both available for sale now at Family Matters in downtown Rogers. 2 Events~This Weekend!

If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend, there are 2 fun events you can attend...
Check out Affair of the Heart in Tulsa, July 16-18! It's a HUGE antique/craft fair and thanks to Kari at Family Matters my artwork & frames will be at the show! Family Matters will have a booth and she's bringing all her cute stuff from the Downtown Rogers shop. The show boasts over 400 booths, food & entertainment!

The other event is the Downtown Rogers (Third Friday) Twilight Walk, This Friday, July 16th from 5:00 p.m.– 9:00 p.m. The merchants of the historic district host local artists, photographers, and musicians as well as promote special sales.

Hope you can make it out to support these local events!

Downtown Rogers Twilight Walk!

This Friday, June 18th, it's time again for the Twilight Walk in the Rogers Historic District!

Twilight Walks are held on the third Friday of each month (May through September) from 5:00 p.m.– 9:00 p.m. During these events, the merchants of the historic district host local artists, photographers, and musicians as well as promote special 3rd Friday Twilight Walk events and sales.

Each Twilight Walk is uniquely themed. The 2010 themes are:

May 21 - Celebrate the Arts
June 18 - Picnic in the Park
July 16 - Summer in the City
August 20 - Dog Days of Summer
September 17 - Indian Summer

Other highlights include live bands and performances on the Frisco Stage; community art projects for children of all ages; street musicians, artists and crafters lining the sidewalks; loft tours of our historic downtown residences; and various local food vendors.

Many downtown businesses will remain open late during these special evenings...Including FAMILY MATTERS at the corner of Walnut & 2nd St. That's where you'll find my artwork & frames for sale in the cutest little shop! (Entrance is to the right of the huge Coca-Cola painted billboard.)

Initial Blocks

I made these custom blocks to match a crib set for a new little boy. The letters on the sides include his initials, ABC, 123, & BOY.
I hear they will be used at the baby shower and then as room decoration.
(They are for decorative use only, as they are made from Styrofoam.)

Twilight Walk

When I first opened Fiddlesticks several months ago, I first pondered whether I should open my own shop on Etsy.com. I thought I'd start slow & small with this blog and gain confidence to "maybe someday" open my own Etsy shop. Well, today is that day, folks!

I'm happy to share with you my basic Price Guide and Item Descriptions:

Frames $22-28
Description: Solid wood, glass, easel back, Holds a 4x6 or a 5x7 photo. (size is noted with each frame I post)

Door Hangers $7-10
Description: Solid wood, painted acrylic, 9.5" L x 3.5" W x 1/4 D, Works on any standard door knob.

Letters (ABC's) 5 styles:
Basic Small $8
Basic Large $10
Embellished Small $12
Embellished Large $14
Small Letter on a Plaque $14

Letter Descriptions:
Basic Small~ Approx. 6.5"L x 4.5W x 1/2"D, Wide enough to stand on its own, Painted & distressed, Covered with designer patterned paper, Ribbon attached to hang (unless specified otherwise), No additional embellishment.

Basic Large~ Approx. 9.5"L x 9"W x 1/4D, NOT wide to stand on its own (must be hung, Painted & distressed, Covered with designer patterned paper, Ribbon attached to hang (unless specified otherwise), No additional embellishment.
